With the development of the new energy industry, lithium batteries are widely used. As an irreplaceable raw material in the production of lithium batteries, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose plays an important role in lithium batteries. CMC as the main binder of battery anode material is widely used by battery manufacturers at home and abroad. The optimal amount of binder(sodium carboxymethyl cellulose) can achieve a large battery capacity, longer cycle life, and relatively low internal resistance. According to the production technology of the battery industry and the special performance requirements of batteries, the battery-grade CMC effectively improves battery performance.

The function of CMC in the battery:
1.It can improve the stability of the dispersion of non-aqueous materials in solution;
2.It can disperse the negative electrode active material and the conductive agent;
3.It has a thickening and anti-settling effect on the negative electrode slurry;
4.It can improve the fluidity of non-aqueous materials in solution;
5.It has an auxiliary bonding effect;
6.It can stabilize the processing performance of the electrode and improve the battery cycle performance;
7.It will improve the peel strength of the battery pole piece.

The features of battery-grade CMC:
1.It has good hydrophilicity and solubility, completely soluble in water, without free fiber and impurities.
2.It has a uniform degree of substitution and stable viscosity with good adhesion.
3.It can produce high-purity products with low metal ion content.
4.CMC has good compatibility when it is used with SBR latex and other materials.
